Why we're confident in ours
Most 50mm hitch carriers on the market hit the same headline specs. The difference is in how they're built and what comes in the box. Here's what we focus on.
One-piece platform
The aluminium platform is welded into one solid piece, not bolted together from two halves. A welded frame stays tight where a bolted one can loosen over time, especially on rough roads.
Fully TIG-welded aluminium
The whole aluminium structure is TIG welded for cleaner, stronger joins. It's the standard you'd expect on quality alloy work, and it keeps the carrier at 25kg without sacrificing the 180kg rating. A lot of steel carriers in this category sit over 32kg, which makes loading them a two-person job.
Everything's in the box
Carrier platform, 50mm shank assembly, stability bracket, loading ramp, front wheel chock, hitch pin and clip, two eyelet bolts, and all the mounting hardware with the Allen key you need to fit it. No nickel-and-diming for accessories that should have been included to start with.
